The Blue gudgeon goby (Ptereleotris heteroptera), also known as the blue dartfish, is a slender Indo-Pacific reef fish prized for its shimmering electric-blue body and forked tail. It typically hovers in small groups above sandy burrows and will dart quickly into hiding when startled. Peaceful and active, it’s popular in reef aquariums—but needs a tight-fitting lid, as it’s an accomplished jumper.
